The Defense Systems Information Analysis Center (DSIAC) is seeking information on AM research for microgravity and space/low Earth orbit environments in support of the U.S. Department of Defense. Modern space exploration depends on components processed on Earth that need to be transported to space and could be unfeasible for future, deeper space exploration due to long transportation times and high costs. To mitigate these issues, there is growing interest in utilizing AM platforms to manufacture critical metallic, polymeric, and ceramic parts. Therefore, research on these technologies in microgravity and vacuum environments is needed.
