Eglin Readiness Center (ERC)
Rafael Perez is an aerospace engineer for ERC, where he supports the aircraft stores certification process at Eglin Air Force Base and analyzes interference conditions via CFD. He has also been involved in software development, creating a plugin interface that combined the AFSEO store separation dynamic and Kestrel CFD solvers. He developed a scripting software to streamline and reduce CFD mesh process and generation turnaround time and enhance CFD data visualization. Prior to working at ERC, he was a senior engineer for Belcan Corporation and a NASA contractor at K.S.C. Dr. Perez holds a B.S. in mechanical engineering from Umass Dartmouth and an M.S. and Ph.D. in aerospace engineering from Virginia Tech.
