The Defense Systems Information Analysis Center is seeking to identify examples of mesh-network or MANET (mobile ad hoc network) radios currently available or in development that can be used for unmanned surface vehicles (USVs) with limited height of eye and limited size, weight, and power capacity. Although IP capability is preferred, extended range non-IP systems, multiple nodes (5-15) and data rates in excess of 250 kbs and compact dimensions (12” x 6” x 6”), and optimizations for operations over water are also of interest. Systems that meet some but not all of these factors are useful if they can provide unique capabilities for USV mission sets.
