The U.S. Army xTech Program launched the next iteration of its most popular competition, xTechSearch 6, and is now accepting submissions through September 2, 2021. The competition will be looking to award up to 10 Phase I SBIR’s of up to $250K each for the small businesses that are selected for the final round!
xTechSearch is an open topic competition sponsored by the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Acquisition, Logistics, and Technology (ASA(ALT)), targeting small businesses to uncover transformative technology solutions to help solve the Army’s most critical modernization challenges. The Army has released a list of the most critical technology focus areas within their research and technology portfolio. xTechSearch 6 will aim to solicit proposals from small businesses that fall within these areas or have the end goal to provide technology overmatch or enable cost savings throughout the Army systems’ life cycle.
White paper submissions must be received by September 2, 2021, at 5:00 PM ET. The top 50 submissions will be invited to advance to the technology pitches, scheduled to take place in Fall 2021, with the finals event tentatively scheduled to take place at the 2022 AUSA Global Force Symposium and Exhibition in March 2022.
xTechSearch 6 will consist of three parts:
Part 1: White Paper Submissions – up to 50 small businesses will win $5K each and advance to Part 2: Technology Pitches.
Part 2: Technology Pitches – up to 20 finalists will win $15K each and advance to Part 3: Finals.
Part 3: Finals – up to 10 winners will receive $25K each and be invited to submit a Phase I SBIR award of up to $250K each.
In addition to prize money and a Phase I SBIR, the top-20 finalists will be entered into the xTech Accelerator to receive intensive mentorship and access to networking events to help grow their companies for Army and commercial users.
xTechSearch 6 is a great opportunity for eligible participants to pitch their novel technology solutions and engage with the Army. Submit your white paper today!
