This inaugural workshop explores liquefied natural gas (LNG) as an additional fuel option for aviation. When prepared from renewable natural gas, LNG is carbon neutral and sustainable. LNG already enjoys applicability in ground, maritime, space, and installation domains supported by a massive infrastructure. It is a low-pressure, cryogenic fluid enabling enhanced thermal management capacity and related benefits. The workshop brings together stakeholders from government, industry, and academia to increase awareness and cross-domain fertilization of LNG, its benefits, and limitations.
This workshop will open with a series of talks presenting perspectives, opportunities, and challenges from multiple viewpoints. Focused sessions will explore strategies, plans, roadmaps, and point papers for supporting the advancement of LNG to benefit aerospace and the U.S. Department of Defense.
