*** In light of the DoD’s domestic travel restrictions through 11 May, Brawler training has been rescheduled for 19-22 May 2020. ***
Brawler is a U.S. government-owned, comprehensive simulation tool which provides a detailed representation of air-to-air combat engagements involving multiple flights of aircraft in the visual and beyond-visual-range arenas. Because of the importance of cooperative tactics and the critical role of human factors (such as surprise, confusion, situation awareness, and the ability to innovate tactical responses in unexpected situations), special emphasis has been placed on simulating these command and control aspects of the engagement process. Brawler is the standard for high-fidelity, air-to-air engagement modeling within the Air Force, Navy, airframe manufacturing, and avionics communities.
This course is designed for individuals who may be involved in studies that use Brawler, including any analysts and engineers who may be running the tool, generating input data, and/or analyzing results. The course includes instruction and hands-on experience using the simulation. Computers will be provided to all students.
Course “prerequisites”: This course teaches the principles and uses of the Brawler simulation. It assumes the student already understands basic principles of modeling and simulation and has some knowledge of air combat principles and systems. It also assumes the student has some familiarity with the Linux environment. These topics are not taught in this course but are required to fully understand the material and complete the exercises.
The course will be offered by ManTech on 21-24 April 2020 at their office located at 46610 Expedition Drive, Lexington Park, MD.
To register for this course, or for additional information, please contact Mark Brown, mark.brown@mantech.com. Deadline for registration is 27 March 2020.
