At the request of Nevada Test and Training Range (NTTR) leadership to DOT&E, Joint Aircraft Survivability Program (JASP) developed Joint Anti-Air Model, Live/Virtual/Constructive (JAAM LVC), a new two-sided combat simulation designed to interface directly with range networks and significantly improve “live” flight training. While the traditional high-fidelity engagement simulation, JAAM Desktop (JTCG/ME application and release processes), is widely used by squadrons across the Services for tactics development and post-mission shot analysis, JAAM LVC introduces near-real-time SAM kill feedback to train U.S. aircrews against surface-to-air emulators on joint ranges. Endorsed by the U.S. Air Force 57th Wing Commander (57 WG CC) and the Marine Aviation Weapons and Tactics Squadron One (MAWTS-1) for continued evolution through FY28, JAAM LVC will expand to multiple range networks to support air-to-air live flight tactics training. JAAM Desktop and JAAM LVC share consistent, authoritative underlying numerical simulations and data managed via the JASP Survivability and Lethality of Aircraft in Tactical Environments (SLATE) program, which utilizes the SLATE graphical user interface and the Hybrid Integration and Visualization Engine (HIVE) framework to integrate and test these complex digital threat models. By utilizing shared, authoritative threat data and numerical models, JAAM LVC delivers highly efficient, near-real-time SAM kill feedback to live-flight range networks, preparing joint-force aviators to successfully defeat advanced threat weapons and survive high-end combat.
