Graham Silsby is a subject matter expert in terminal ballistics for SURVICE Engineering. He has over 40 years of experience in research and development engineering, with the last 35 years as a senior research mechanical engineer specializing in penetration mechanics at the Armor and Lethal Mechanisms Branches of the U.S. Army Research Laboratory’s (ARL’s) Weapons and Materials Research Directorate. One of his main focuses at ARL was developing and improving the armor on the M1 tank and Bradley fighting vehicle and improving their antiarmor ammunition. He has a patent on “Means to Control Sabot Petal Trajectory at Start of Discard” and has authored and coauthored many publications on ballistics. Mr. Silsby has a BSME in mechanical engineering and a BSCE in civil engineering.
