Mr. Andrew Tweedell

Mr. Tweedell is the current Project Lead for the “Human Agent Interaction for Intelligent Squad Weapons” program under DEVCOM Army Research Laboratory’s Human Research and Engineering Directorate. He earned his BA in Exercise Science (2012) and MA in Neuromuscular Physiology (2015) from the University of Texas at Austin and the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill, respectively. After graduation, from 2015 to 2017, he worked at ARL as a post-graduate research fellow under the Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education Fellowship. Now Mr. Tweedell has 7 years total of military research at ARL within the intersection of human performance and data analytics in both the physical and cognitive domains. Previous scientific publications span neuro-mechanics, exoskeleton evaluation, cognitive and physical interactions in marksmanship, and human variability in Big Data. He previously acted as Project Lead for the “Techniques for Soldier Exoskeleton Analysis” program at ARL which informed design requirements for future dismounted exoskeletons. In addition to military research, he acts as a contract data analyst for Optimum Performance Analytics Associates, performing statistical analyses related to professional and collegiate sport performance and is currently pursuing a MS in Data Science part time at Northeastern University.
