DSIAC received a request for assistance finding failure rates from real-life data for three-phase motors. This included any data on failure rates coinciding with each motor failure mode, specifically on AC and three-phase induction motors operating at <600 V and <5 HP. DSIAC compiled a list of relevant works with the assistance of subject matter experts (SMEs) at Texas Research Institute Austin and referred the inquirer to a retired SME from Alcoa/Arconic. DSIAC also created a limited distribution unclassified forum using DTIC’s DoDTechSpace, where additional relevant references were offered from community members and supplied to the inquirer.
