Defense Systems Information Analysis Center (DSIAC) staff contacted the U.S. Army Program Executive Office for Intelligence, Electronic Warfare & Sensors (PEO IEW&S), who is responsible for developing and managing the Army’s portfolio of biometrics sensing and data collection/archival systems. PEO IEW&S Biometrics Collection Capability (BCC) assisted DSIAC in coordinating a meeting between the inquirer and their product managers and the Biometrics Enabling Capability (BEC). BCC and BEC personnel provided an overview briefing for all PEO IEW&S managed biometrics systems and capabilities to include status of past systems no longer supported by PEO IEW&S, current systems and upgrades, systems in development, and the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) repository for all biometrics data. As some of the older systems had been transferred out of the DoD, PEO IEW&S BCC introduced DSIAC staff to the Defense Forensics and Biometrics Agency to help provide information on biometrics systems no longer within the DoD biometrics portfolio and assist the inquirer with future questions. Systems covered included Automated Biometrics Identification System, Biometrics Automated Toolset-Army, Handheld Interagency Identity Detection Equipment, Next Generation Biometric Collection Capability, Near Real-Time Identity Operations, Gatekeeper On The Move-Biometrics, Video Identity Collection and Exploitation, Voice Identity Biometrics Exploitation Services, and Identity Warrior Software.
