DSIAC conducted a literature search on DTIC’s R&E Gateway to identify two of the most-up-to-date International Test Operations Procedures (ITOP) reports on the topics of ballistic testing and vulnerability testing; each contained information to answer the bulk of the requester’s question. The requester further asked for information regarding how to connect (or not) multiple RHA plates during testing – is there a difference in penetration if the plates are welded or simply placed flush beside one another? DSIAC reached out to a subject matter expert on shaped charge jets to provide input on the question. A bibliography was delivered to the inquirer.
